FAQ

What services do you offer?

The following three examples demonstrate the services offered by ASL Consulting:

  1. Design and build of control systems for high-value or low volume of equipment, including custom-builds and one-offs.
  2. Design and prototyping for the development of high volumes of equipment.
  3. Repairs, or addition of functionality for existing equipment.

In addition we can provide interim project management or consultancy services to complement your own resources.

What are your in-house capabilities?

We have access to:

  • Software compilers for firmware development and testing.
  • PCB design tools, for schematic generation and layout design.
  • PCB assembly equipment for surface-mount and thru-hole prototyping/rework.
  • Test equipment for digital and analogue design and testing.

In addition to the knowledge and equipment you would expect of an electronics and software design-house.

What if my project requires specialised skills?

Jonathan has a large network of professional contacts developed over many years in the industry.  If your project requires specific skills, you can be sure we will know someone who has those skills, and we can work with them to complete your project.

How will you manage my project, and how much will it cost?

All projects are overseen by Jonathan, and elements of your project may be undertaken by ASL associates  and industry consultants as required.   As a guide, Jonathan’s day-rate is £600 per professional day.  We aim to provide a fixed-price quotation for your project where possible, unless there are elements for which a daily-rate is more appropriate.  We will work with you to understand your business and the requirements of the end-users of your product before providing a price or lead-time.
